It's Easy to Be Green

Emerald is Pantone's color pick for 2013, and this jewel-toned hue is making its presence felt across the country at trade shows from New York to Los Angeles.

While its predecessor--Tangerine Tango--provided an invigorating energy boost, Emerald has a calming effect, nurturing balance and harmony--just what we need in today's economy.

"Symbolically, emerald brings a sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation, which is so important in today's complex world," said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. "Green is the most abundant hue in nature--the human eye sees more green than any other color in the spectrum."

For the home, there's green aplenty in the future--enough to make others green with envy. Whether alone or paired with neutrals or other colorful hues, emerald brings a saturated sophistication to any decor.

"As it has throughout history, multifaceted emerald continues to sparkle and fascinate," said Eiseman.--Andrea Lillo
