Joly Named CEO of Best Buy

Hubert JolyHubert Joly

MINNEAPOLIS-The Best Buy board of directors has appointed Hubert Joly president and CEO.

Joly will succeed board member G. Mike Mikan, who became interim CEO in April, in early September. Mikan assumed the interim role after the departure of Brian Dunn, who resigned in the midst of an investigation by the board's audit committee of Dunn's relationship with a female employee. In May, a Best Buy statement at that time said the committee's investigation had found that Dunn's actions had "negatively impacted the work environment."

Joly most recently served as CEO of Carlson, a global hospitality and travel company. His career also includes leadership positions with Vivendi, EDS and Carlson Wagonlit Travel, the latter a unit of Carlson.
