New York Tabletop Show Opens Today

NEW YORK-Tabletop buyers from across the country begin their search for the latest and hottest new tabletop products at the New York Tabletop Show here today.

The show, held at permanent showroom buildings Forty One Madison, 7 W New York, 230 Fifth Avenue and numerous individual showrooms across the city, promises to offer a plethora of entertainment-related items, the introduction or extension of license partnerships, plenty of giftware, and showroom after showroom of new dinnerware, glassware, flatware and crystal for the fall selling season.

Among the showroom party draws are a jazz singer at Lenox and a psychic at Royal Crown Derby, a celebration of the 75th anniversary of Spode Christmas Tree and the debut of Vista Alegre's U.S. division.

On Wednesday Forty One Madison will host a breakfast seminar entitled, "The Family Meal: Returning to the Table," featuring Huffington Post blogger Emma Mustich, Isabelle von Boch of Villeroy & Boch, and Laureen Barber of Stone Barn Centers for Food & Agriculture. Moderated by Stephen Scoble of Food & Wine, the panel will discuss the family meal and its implications for the tabletop industry.
