Replacements Recognized for Equality Efforts

GREENSBORO, N.C.-For the 11th consecutive year, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation awarded Replacements, Ltd. a perfect score on the HRC's Corporate Equality Index, the company announced. The Greensboro retailer said it is the only North Carolina-based company to achieve a 100 percent rating every year since the index began in 2002, and one of only nine companies nationally to receive a perfect score all 11 years.
The HRC Foundation is the educational arm of the nation's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organization. The annual report rates how major American companies treat LGBT employees, consumers and investors. This year's results indicate more businesses are adding gender identity protections, and internal diversity and inclusion training, Replacements said in a statement.
"It's exciting to see more and more companies including and valuing LGBT employees," said Replacements' Founder and CEO Bob Page. "The growing number of businesses receiving a perfect score shows how far corporate America has come in recognizing a simple fact: employees should be judged on their qualifications and work performance alone, not on their sexual orientation, gender identity or other factors that don't have anything to do with work. I urge the next Congress to join America's leading businesses to do the right thing to secure workplace equality by passing the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA)."
