Ross Stores Opens 30 New Sites

Ross Stores_Dress For LessDUBLIN, Calif.-Ross Stores has opened 23 new Ross Dress for Less and seven new dd's Discounts stores across 17 states.

The openings are part of the off-price retailer's plan to open 75 Ross Dress for Less and 20 dd's Discounts stores during 2014. Jim Fassio, Ross' president and chief development officer, said, "These latest openings reflect our ongoing expansion strategy to fill in our presence in existing markets while also increasing penetration in our newer Midwest region, where we added another eight Ross locations in July. The seven dd's Discounts stores we opened also included initial entry into three new states--New Jersey, North Carolina and Oregon."

With these openings, Ross Dress For Less now numbers 1,194 stores in 33 states, while dd's Discounts has a store count of 144 in 13 states. Fassio said the company can nearly double its Ross Dress For Less count to 2,000 locations, and dd's Discounts has the potential to become a 500-store chain.
