Sears Receives Online Retail Award

LONDON-The corporate website of Sears Holdings has been cited as the Multiple Online Retail Site of the Year from the Online Retail Awards (ORA), an organization that highlights effective retail sites in a variety of categories.

In its statement announcing the 2011 category winners, ORA's judges said the Sears corporate site "imbues every visitor with a sense of excitement about the international Sears group." One of the judges, according to the statement, said, "Any one of the Sears divisions could have one an ORA this year. Great site. Thrilling to explore."

In the home and home-improvement category, the ORA winner was made.com for its "clear, beautifully photographed images, loads of information, engagement in product selection through customer voting, preferential discounts and sensible enticements to invite friends to visit and register on the site." Made.com also won a separate award for Online Retail Launch Site of the Year.
