Target Opens More Canadian Locations

Target, Facebook Align for Cartwheel AppMISSISSAUGA, Ontario-Target will open 33 additional Canadian stores across nine provinces, including its first stores in New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland.

The company will open 31 more Canadian stores on Nov. 13, and two others on Nov. 22. This will complete Target's Canadian store openings for 2013. Additional store openings beyond this year are set to be announced at a later date.

Along with the stores in New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland, Target will open six locations in British Columbia, one in Alberta, one in Manitoba, eight in Ontario, eight in Quebec and one in Nova Scotia on Nov. 13. The two slated to open on Nov. 22 will be in Ontario and Quebec.

Tony Fisher, president of Target Canada, said, "The final store openings for this year mark a major milestone in Target's history. The goal for our Canadian expansion was to open 124 stores across all 10 provinces in 2013, and we are proud to say that with the help of more than 20,000 Canadian team members nationwide, we have accomplished this unprecedented undertaking."
