Target Progresses in Canada with More Soft Openings

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario-Target is conducting more soft openings of stores in western Canada today and on May 14, further expanding its presence north of the border.

The locations opening today include 10 in the province of Alberta, nine in British Columbia and three in Manitoba. On May 14, the retailer will open one in British Columbia and one in Alberta.

These follow up on the soft opening of 24 stores in Ontario in March. Target said it is still on course to open a total of 124 stores in Canada this year.

Tony Fisher, president of Target Canada, said, "It was exciting to see the response to our Ontario store openings, which have produced valuable insights that, along with our soft openings in western Canada, will help us to continue to deliver on Target's 'Expect More. Pay Less.' brand promise for guests across Canada."
