The Shops at Target Debut

MINNEAPOLIS-The launch of The Shops at Target, Target's concept of limited-time boutiques in stores and online, took place yesterday, May 6.

Announced in January, the concept involves partnerships with the owners of specialty stores and boutiques to co-create limited-edition collections of a variety of products for Target shoppers. In the first flight which launched yesterday, one of the shops is Privet House, a partnership with the Connecticut-based retailer of the same name, which offers furniture, artwork, home decor and accessories, and garden products. Each of the shops, which number five in total, will be open for six weeks.

According to the retailer, Target will also announce the second flight of The Shops at Target this week on its Twitter account, @ABullseyeView.com. Throughout the week, Target will unveil each of the specialty shops that will participate in the second wave, which will begin on Sept. 9.
