Tuesday Morning Sales Pick Up in Q3

DALLAS-Third-quarter net sales for Tuesday Morning rose 3.1 percent to $178.1 million, according to a preliminary report on the quarter from the closeout retailer.

The gain included an increase of 2.8 percent in same-store sales in the quarter, which ended on March 31. A Tuesday Morning statement said the comparable-store rise consisted of a 1.4 percent pickup in average transaction, coupled with a 1.4 percent increase in customer traffic.

For the nine months up until March 31, net sales rose 3.2 percent to $636.2 million. Same-store sales for that period were up 3.7 percent.

Tuesday Morning said it would release the full report on the third quarter on April 25.
