Walmart Debuts iPhone, iPad Apps for Shoppers
November 9, 2011,
BENTONVILLE, Ark.-Walmart has launched new applications for the iPhone and iPad, designed to give shoppers tools to plan their weekly trips to the store, and to give them a new way to access Walmart both in stores and online.
The iPhone app is actually an update, which enables Walmart customers to create "smart" shopping lists, scan QR codes and access product information. Users can add items to their lists by speaking, typing or scanning bar codes, and can calculate total prices in real time as specific items are added to the mobile shopping lists. Users can also email shopping lists to friends and families and view aisle locations of products in select stores across the country.
The iPad app is available free through Apple's App Store in the Lifestyle category. The updated iPhone app will be available soon.
