Walmart Looks to Boost Thanksgiving Weekend Shopping

BENTONVILLE, Ark.-Walmart will attempt to boost traffic in its stores and on its Web site during Thanksgiving with an offer of "unbeatable prices" on various products, including home items, according to a statement from the world's largest retailer.

Among the offerings on Thanksgiving Day this Thursday will be a holiday tabletop set, with service for eight and including plates, silverware, glassware and linens, for $100 on Walmart's Web site, On Friday, Nov. 27, among the featured items will be a Canopy 600 thread-count sheet set for $24, and a Paula Deen 10-piece cookware set for $89.

Walmart also said many of its stores will be open for 24 hours for the day-after-Thanksgiving event.
