Atlanta Rug Market Opens

AtlantaRugMkt_2015ATLANTA-The Atlanta International Area Rug Market opened today, kicking off the new year with thousands of area rug introductions. In addition, many companies are celebrating expanded or new showrooms, anniversaries--or the market in general.

First-time AmericasMart exhibitor Devgiri debuts with the largest new showroom this market--12,000 square feet--in space 5-A-1. Capel Rugs has relocated its showroom to Floor 3, to space 3-C-15.

Couristan has an expanded showroom, and will celebrate the new space (6-D-11) with a cocktail party tonight from 3-6 p.m., during which attendees can enter to win an Apple MacBook Air or an iPad Air 2.

Other expanded showrooms include Kashee & Sons, Inc (Floor 4) and Pasargad Carpets (Floor 3), while other relocated showrooms include Shalom (Floor 3) and Smyrna Trading (Floor 3).

The new year also signals several company anniversaries. Momeni is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2015, while Nourison marks 35 years in business.

Educational opportunities today include "The Unique Rug Forum--The Future of the Rug Business," at 1:30 p.m., an informal panel presentation and discussion moderated by Rob Leahy, Jim Garner and Frank Eways Jr.; and "ORRA's New Look ... Our Mission, Logo and Educational Programs...A Virtual Approach" at 3:30 p.m., a presentation given by ORRA board members to discuss ORRA and its future plans. Both will be given in 4-G-7.
