DALLAS--Inspired by Hollywood in the 1930s and 1940s, the Architectural Digest greenroom at the upcoming 84th Annual Academy Awards will include two Beni Ourain Moroccan-style shag rugs from Feizy Rugs.
"We're honored to be a part of such an iconic event," said John Feizy, founder and CEO, Feizy. "It's hard to believe that in the space of just under 40 years, our company has gone from a local designer resource to an international supplier of the finest, most desired rugs in the world."
"I was inspired by Hollywood in the 1930s and 40s. I referenced in my design the director George Cukor's house who was a good friend of Elizabeth Taylor," said Fernandez. "He would have parties in his house every weekend and have the most glamorous people in his home. His interiors were done by Billy Haines and he kept his house the same until the end of his life which I also feel is very special. I love the layers in his home and how his accessories, carpets and art helped finished the room and all his interior spaces. These are the elements that truly make a room distinct."
This is Architectural Digest's tenth year of producing the backstage lounge for Oscar presenters and honorees.
