Rug Showrooms Expand, Move for Las Vegas Market

At this summer's Las Vegas Market, several rug manufacturers have either moved or expanded their showrooms, and are debuting their new spaces at the show.

Two rug companies have relocated to Building A. Jaunty will be in A455 in a new 3,000-square-foot showroom.

It's a "better move," said Kami Navid, executive vice president, and conveniently located across from the escalators. In addition, the new showroom is near floral and lighting showrooms, and Navid liked the mix, as the company targets retailers that use rugs as accessories.

Central Oriental has relocated its showroom to Building A as well, to space A452. The new 2,200-square-foot showroom is larger and "a nicer space," said Jim Thompson, vice president, sales and marketing.

Jaipur will move to a new building, Building B, for its new space B424. At 8,500 square feet, the new showroom is larger than the previous one of 5,000 square feet. The new showroom will be near more accessories companies, such as lighting and home decor, which makes for a good blend of products, said Josh Roberts, vice president, sales and marketing. In addition, "the Western U.S. is our fastest growing market."

Also in Building B, Loloi Rugs has debuted its largest trade show space in the U.S., as the new showroom spans 21,500 square feet. Located in space B480, the showroom has an open layout and the new floor features patterned, color concrete. There will also be a full-service, 15-foot-long bar and all-new widescreen video monitors and sound system throughout the showroom.

"We hope this expanded Las Vegas showroom becomes a market destination that draws our customers in to shop, of course, but also invites them to unwind throughout their workday and after business has concluded," said Cyrus Loloi, spokesperson, Loloi.

Harounian Rugs has more than doubled its space in Building B, and now has a 6,000-square-foot showroom. It's located in space B420. "The opportunity to expand our showroom came at a perfect time; our business has continued a double-digit growth trend over the past several markets," said Lee Harounian, president and COO. "The showroom will allow us capitalize on that trend, giving us the ability to show much more product."
