September Designer Day to Focus on Carpet Selection

NEW YORK-"Selecting the Right Carpet: From Contemporary to Classic to Custom" will be the topic of  7 W New York's next Designer Day series on Sept. 12. Taking place during the New York International Carpet Show, Sept. 11 to 13, on the 11th floor of 7 W New York, the event will begin at 11:30 a.m.

Annie Block of Interior Design magazine will moderate the panel discussion with interior designer Carl D'Aquino, rug designer Amy Helfand and ASID interior and rug designer Pedro Lima. The designers will share their portfolios with attendees and discuss their carpet choices and creations in a variety of residential and commercial projects. After the discussion, attendees can visit the NYICS as well as enjoy a complementary tasting inspired by the carpets and regions on display. The NYICS at 7 W will include new products, custom capabilities, special collections and one-of-a-kind creations.

"We are pleased to once again be at 7 W New York and to be a part of its Designer Day series," said Dennis Dodds, NYICS owner and organizer. "The presentation will shine the spotlight on one of the most important elements in any architectural space: the floor. How we approach designing this surface deserves our discerning eye. Handmade rugs and carpets are essential and effective tools in the hands of a gifted designer and architect. With an exciting new range of textures, patterns and palettes available on the market, the ambience of an interior space can be deftly transformed."
