Bill Green, Former Libbey Exec, Dies

NEW YORK--Bill Green, who worked for Libbey for 38 years, passed away Feb. 20. He was 77.
Green joined Owens-Illinois, Libbey's parent at the time, in 1956. In 1958, he was promoted to a sales position with the Libbey Glass division in New York City. He continued his sales career with managerial positions in Seattle, New York, and at Libbey's Toledo headquarters. He retired in December of 1993 after 38 years of service.
Jeff Joyce, Libbey's vice president of retail sales and marketing, said, "Bill was a driving force in Libbey's retail growth during his career. He was considered a "Libbey ambassador" to the retail community, and was well respected in the industry. Bill's kindness, sense of humor, and outstanding salesmanship endeared him to his work colleagues and customers."
Green is survived by his wife of 55 years, Diane; sons David and Rick; a daughter, Amy Green Parker and her husband, Craig; and three grandchildren.
