Dansk Partners with Designer Lotta Jansdotter
December 4, 2013,
NEW YORK--Dansk has signed a license agreement with Scandinavian designer Lotta Jansdotter for a porcelain dinnerware collection that will be sold exclusively at Bed, Bath and Beyond beginning in January.
Jansdotter, who was born in Sweden but now lives and has a studio in Brooklyn, has primarily been a textiles designer, though she also offers a melamine collection. Her design aesthetic is rooted in the Scandinavian landscape, but she creates products for a busy city lifestyle and exhibits "a cool, fun, fresh sense of design," said Dansk President Glenn DeStefano.
"We thought it was a nice match for Dansk," he continued. "It gives us a fresh look in pattern." The Scandinavian design influence is also true to Dansk's brand heritage, he said.
