Forty One Madison Expands Tenant Roster

NEW YORK-Two iconic international luxury brands top the list of showroom openings at Forty One Madison Avenue when The New York Tabletop Market gets underway next month.
Hermes has completed a new 3,000-square-foot location on the 22nd floor. On display here under the company's home division banner, Art de la Table, will be La Table Hermes branded dinnerware and accessories, Saint-Louis crystal and Puiforcat silver, along with executive offices. "We are very pleased to join Forty One Madison," said Olivier Pechou, vice president Art de la Table/Interior Design Projects, "and are eager to have a space to welcome press, architects, designers, as well as our partners, all year long."
Tzeng Shyng is another Forty One Madison newcomer. Its U.S. operations now occupy a 2,500-square-foot space on the third floor that includes a showroom and offices. At Market, it will take the wraps off its eco-friendly tabletop designs of GML Green Melamine and Bio Bamboo Fiber, among other collections. According to Charles Guthrie III, president of Tzeng Shyng Group, "We made a strategic decision to redirect our marketing efforts to a 'factory direct' platform and focus our efforts toward direct service venues with our key accounts. . . [Forty One Madison Senior Vice President and Director] Laurie Burns and the management of Forty One Madison have demonstrated their keen ability to host the best suppliers in a world-class facility, and we desired to be a part of that success."
Several showrooms are expanding this spring. Tervis heads to the recently renovated eighth floor and a location that will triple where it previously was housed. Michael Aram, which moved into Forty One on the eighth floor just a year ago, also is taking on additional space on the floor. Another eighth floor neighbor, Circle Glass, is increasing its real estate by 50 percent, an expansion that also comes within a year of moving into the building.
"With these additions and expansions, Forty One Madison will showcase even more solid resources and products at the upcoming show," Burns said.
Among the highlights at the show, which takes place Tuesday, April 17 through Friday, April 20, will be a breakfast seminar on April 18 headlined by Simon Doonan, creative ambassador at large for Barneys New York, whose latest book is titled "Gay Men Don't Get Fat." Following his presentation, Doonan will be available to sign books, with each guest receiving a complimentary copy courtesy of Forty One Madison (while supply lasts.)
