Housewares Show to Add Discover Design Category at the 2011 Show
August 17, 2010,
ROSEMONT, Ill.-The International Housewares Association will add a new category called Discover Design at the next International Home + Housewares Show, which is scheduled for March 6-8, 2011.
The category will be located in the Tabletop, Kitchen Essentials + Accents section in the Dine + Design Expo in the South building of McCormick Place. In an IHA statement, Phil Brandl, the association's president, said exhibitors in the new section will be chosen based on "inspired design, quality, brand positioning, outstanding craftsmanship, exclusive market focus, retailer and consumer favorites, and design-focused sustainable product."
Companies that exhibit in Discover Design will also be eligible to compete for Global Innovator Awards for product innovation and booth design, IHA said. All of the products submitted for these awards will be displayed in the Discover Design gallery on the exhibit floor.
