Lalique Posts Profit, Outlines Growth Strategy
April 1, 2011,
PARIS-Lalique said today that it is "back on the growth path," stemming a 10-year loss with a $0.9 million profit in 2010 while implementing a multi-pronged strategy for ensuring continued growth.
Company Chairman Silvio Denz said the luxury crystal company will continue to capitalize on the artistic heritage of its founder Rene Lalique through new artistic collaborations, while entering a new partnership with fellow French tabletop company Christofle, building its jewelry business, and opening new franchises worldwide.
Lalique and the Studio Andree Putman are working together on a collection; a limited selection of items will be presented during the second half of this year before the full collection is unveiled in 2012. Also in 2012 the company will launch its first collection of fine jewelry.
Other new partnerships will produce luxury jewelry boxes made from precious wood and encrusted with crystals, created in collaboration with Viscount David Linley; a new line of furniture, lamps and accessories created in collaboration with Lady Tina Green and her
London-based company Argent Design; a private Lalique dining room at Mosimann's restaurant in London's Belgrave Square; and entry into the art world through a partnership with the Foundation Yves Klein.
Lalique will also open 14 new shops in 2011, most of them as franchises. They will be situated in Doha, Riyadh, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait City, Muscat, Erbil, Calcutta, Delhi, Istanbul, Frankfurt, Moscow and other cities.
