FORT MILL, S.C.-Laura Ashley has signed a licensing agreement with Netherlands-based Merison Groep to create a contemporary kitchen and tabletop collection that will include a range of cookware, bakeware, dinnerware, glassware and cutlery.

The tabletop collection debuted at the International Home + Housewares Show in Chicago last week and will be on display in the Hermes-Otto International showroom in New York. The full collection will launch in fall 2013 with retail prices ranging from $9.99 to $89.99.

Dutch based housewares company Merison and Hermes-OTTO International established a joint venture in February 2011 in which Hermes-OTTO International sells and distributes Merison's licensed brand ranges, which in addition to Laura Ashley include Jamie Oliver, the Smurfs, and others.

"We are very excited to enter into a partnership with a brand that has such a rich and deep heritage," said Michael Moore, CEO of Merison. "We consider this to be an excellent business opportunity for our company to develop a collection inspired by the beautiful and colorful prints that customers love and expect from Laura Ashley."

Said Laura Ashley President Penne Cairoli, "Laura Ashley tabletop is a natural extension for the brand widely recognized for fashion and home furnishings rich with classic, feminine inspiration. The collection transcends generations and lends itself perfectly to bridal registries and gift giving."
