Messe Frankfurt Reports Strong Ambiente Attendance

FRANKFURT, Germany-Ambiente, the international five-day trade fair that wrapped up here earlier this week, featured more exhibitors and more visitors than last year's show, according to show owner and organizer Messe Frankfurt.

"Ambiente 2013 left no doubt that consumption is 'in' and gave an impressive demonstration of its position as the world's leading consumer-goods fair. Despite the difficult economic circumstances prevailing in parts of Europe, Ambiente was able to grow on both the exhibitor and visitors sides," said Detlef Braun, member of the executive board of Messe Frankfurt GmbH.

With over 140,000 visitors, Ambiente 2013 was distinguished by its growth in the number of visitors (there were 138,058 visitors in 2012). The top 10 visitor nations were Italy, France, The Netherlands, the United States, Great Britain, Switzerland, Spain, China, the Russian Federation and Austria. The Fair showcased the products of 4,688 exhibitors from 81 countries. Last year 4,530 exhibitors hailed from 88 countries, Messe Frankfurt said.

"We are very pleased with Ambiente and welcomed a large stream of customers to our stand throughout the fair," said Nicolas Luc Villeroy, member of the board of management of Villeroy & Boch AG, in a statement released by Messe Frankfurt. "Our most important customers from Asia, North America and Eastern Europe, as well as our core markets, such as Germany and France, visited us here. Overall, we have been able to maintain at last year's high level and even improve on it in certain countries, such as Benelux."
