NEW YORK-The fundraising efforts for Party for Life, the annual event of charitable organization Gift for Life, has begun with a $25,000 presenting sponsorship with Mudpie. To be held Jan. 30, 2011, at The Boathouse at Central Park, the 19th annual event will honor Mudpie's founder and president Marcia Miller with the Trailblazer Award, which recognizes an industry pioneer.

Besides the commitment from Mudpie, the event has also received $15,000 from the New York International Gift Fair and $5,000 each from Dallas Market Center and MMPI, among others.

"The work that Gift for Life does to support AIDS research and education is important to the gifting community, as most of us have been touched by the loss of someone special to us," said Miller. "I want to encourage everyone to join me in supporting this worthy cause and its mission of care. Each contribution makes a big difference."

The Party of Life event will include food, drink, and a short program honoring industry leaders, as well as chances to mingle and participate in a silent auction. Sponsorship levels range from $500 to $25,000, while individual tickets are available for $125.

"Marcia's contribution reflects the often humbling generosity of our industry," said Jenny Hammons, chair of the Gift for Life board. "We welcome sponsorships at every level to help reach our fundraising goal and to continue to support HIV/AIDS service and education programs."
