Urban Expositions Restructures Team, Promotes Executives

ATLANTA-Trade-show manager Urban Expositions has created new roles and responsibilities for a number of its executives and gift-show team members.
Donna Guess, vice president/sales management, has been promoted to the newly created position of vice president of operations. In her new post, Guess is responsible for event operations at all Urban Expositions trade shows. She also retains her previous oversight of sales management for the company's souvenir and resort shows and events.
Dirk von Gal, show director of the California Gift Show, has been named to the new position of industry vice president of gift. In his new role, von Gal works closely with the respective gift-show directors, sales and marketing teams with a view toward strengthening these shows from a sales-management and strategic-planning perspective.
Matt Miller, show director for the semi-annual Orlando Gift Show, the Orlando Cash & Carry Show and the annual Gulf Coast Gift Show, has been named sales manager for the Las Vegas Souvenir & Resort Gift Show. Reporting to Lisa Glosson, the show's director, Miller oversees sales for the show and continues to serve as show director for the three Florida events.
Evan Shoda, advertising sales manager for 15 Urban Expositions trade events, has been appointed sales manager for the California Gift Show and San Francisco International Gift Fair. Shoda reports to John and is in charge of strengthening and growing the two shows' exhibitor base among the general gift, world-style handcrafted and vintage sections. He also continues as ad sales manager.
