Varakian to Lead Lifetime Cutlery, Cookware Divisions

LTB NEW LOGOGARDEN CITY, N.Y.-Former Nambe President Bob Varakian has joined Lifetime Brands as group president over its cutlery/cutting boards and cookware/bakeware divisions.

Varakian will assume his new role on Jan. 6 and will report to Jeffrey Siegel, chairman and CEO of Lifetime Brands. In addition, Stephen Spitz has been promoted to president of the cutlery/cutting boards division, effective immediately. Since joining Lifetime Brands in 2005, Spitz has held various positions, including the most recent position of senior vice president and chief marketing officer for the cookware, cutlery and bakeware divisions. Spitz will report to Varakian.

Varakian has more than 25 years of experience in the housewares industry. Prior to serving as CEO and president of Nambe, Varakian was CEO and president of Catalina Lighting, president and founder of Lectrix, and president of EKCO Housewares (a division of Ekco Group).

I am confident Steve will continue to be instrumental in the ongoing success of the cutlery/cutting boards division in his new role as division president."

Bob Reichenbach [who passed away earlier this month] did an outstanding job and I will attempt to continue the momentum that he developed. I am proud of what we accomplished at Nambe. I leave behind many friends and I wish them nothing but the best."

It was unknown at press time whether Nambe has named a successor to Varakian.
