Yankee Candle Opens First Canadian Retail Stores

SOUTH DEERFIELD, Mass.-Yankee Candle is in the process of opening its first company-owned stores.

The company has slated five stores in the Toronto area that are to open before Sept. 16--the first three of which, in Pickering, St. Catharine's and Hamilton, Ontario, have already opened. The other two, in Barre and Kitchener, Ontario, will open in the coming weeks. Measuring from 915 to 1,430 square feet, the stores will carry candles, home fragrances, candle accessories and gift sets.

Yankee Candle currently operates 528 stores in the United States. Globally, the company has a wholesale network of 5,300 store locations and distributorships in 48 countries, including Canada.
