Atlanta International Area Rug Show Opens

ATLANTA-Even with the cold forecast, attendees descended on AmericasMart today, looking for hot products and trends at the Atlanta International Area Rug Market, which opened this morning.

The first major trade show of the new year, companies hope this market will show signs of a better year ahead, as most were happy to see 2009 end.

Over the next few days, manufacturers will show thousands of designs, and many of them will expand their lower price point offerings.

Nourison celebrates 30 years in business with a party at the show this evening. Surya and Loloi will also host parties as well tonight. On Friday night, Williamsburg and the Gift and Home Trade Association will host separate parties, as will Safavieh, at which designer Thom Filicia will make an appearance.
