Hayneedle Ups Barker to CEO

OMAHA, Neb.-Jon Barker, president of Hayneedle, has been promoted to CEO of the home furnishings online retailer, according to a statement from the company.
As CEO, Barker is succeeding Doug Nielsen, Hayneedle's co-founder, who is continuing as chairman. Barker had been chief operating officer from 2008 to 2013, according to his biography on the executive-team page. The Hayneedle statement credited Barker with emphasizing the company's customer-focused culture and for the development of key initiatives, including a scalable platform that supports the company's sales across hundreds of product categories. Nielsen called Barker "an exceptional leader. I am truly excited to have him lead our company during our next phase of growth."
Before joining Hayneedle, Barker was senior vice president of distribution and logistics for Cornerstone Brands.
