NEW YORK-Borderfree, a global e-commerce company, has named Stephen Sadove, former chairman and CEO of Saks Inc., as chairman of its newly created advisory board.

Borderfree provides management for all aspects of international online retailing, including localized pricing and payment processing, landed cost calculation, customs clearance and brokerage, fraud management, logistics orchestration and customer-experience parity. Michael DeSimone, Borderfree's CEO, said the advisory board "will advance our mission of helping domestic retailers successfully expand their international presence. We are thrilled to name an executive of Steve's caliber as chairman, and we look forward to leveraging his considerable experience and impressive track record of helping to grow some of America's most recognizable brands."

Sadove served as Saks' chairman and CEO from 2006 until last November, leaving after the department-store retailer was acquired by Hudson's Bay Co. He is currently chairman of the National Retail Federation, and also is on the boards of J.C. Penney, Colgate-Palmolive, Aramark and Ruby Tuesday.
