Calvin Klein Signs Z3 as Licensing Partner for Furniture; Will Expand Curator Offerings at Market

NEW YORK-Calvin Klein Home, which had been doing its new line of Curator Collection furniture itself direct with overseas resources, has now signed Z3 LLC. as its licensing partner to handle sales, production and distribution.

The line will continue to be designed by Calvin Klein Home and produced at such companies as Samuelson, for case goods, and Archetype, for upholstery but Z3 will take over all business aspects of the Curator Collection brand.

Calvin Klein Home was launched in 1985, but only recently got into the furniture business, choosing to handle all aspects itself rather than going through a licensee.

That now changes with this announcement. "This new relationship will allow us to continue to offer a wide selection of products," said Tom Murry, president of Calvin Klein Inc. "I am delighted to have [Z3] as our licensing partners."

Z3 is controlled by Wingspan Capital Partners and headed by Paul Zlotoff, managing director. "Z3 is pleased to become part of the Calvin Klein Home family and to be a part of the Curator Collection," he said. Z3 will handle both U.S. distribution and sales in Australia, where the line was recently introduced.

At the High Point Market next month, additional pieces will be shown as part of the Curator Collection, including new upholstery and a linear marble table with brushed nickel feet.
