ATLANTA-Home Source International has acquired Shiner International, a manufacturer of furniture and lighting.

Terms were not disclosed. Launched by Joe Manus in January 2010, Shiner produces eco-friendly seating, surface products, beds, sofas, couches and lighting.

Keith Sorgeloos, president and CEO of Home Source, said the acquisition "will augment our long-term goals of providing a one-stop shop for total home that brings newness, freshness and distinction to the home. Shiner is a great fit for Home Source as it relates well to its contemporary core of differentiated, unique and innovative Made in America product, is sustainable, eco-friendly and recyclable, and provides a look in the home that is esthetically appealing and functional."

Manus remains with Home Source as vice president of business development. He likened the combination of Home Source and Shiner to "the blending of paints. Even though the existing colors were good on their own, this new, unknown-to-the-world color will have a new breadth and excitement of its own."
