READING, Mass.-Mass. Gov. Deval Patrick applauded Keurig and its parent company, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, for their commitment to innovation, job creation, corporate giving and volunteerism during a visit he paid to Keurig's offices here on Tuesday.
Greeted by Keurig's president, Michelle Stacy, Patrick participated in a meet-and-greet-style discussion with Keurig's senior management team and then toured the facility. He samples Keurig-brewed beverages and congratulated the employees on the brand's "positive impact" on both the greater Boston area and Massachusetts as a whole. "Keurig is a wonderful example of a company dedicated to improving the lives not only of its employees but its local communities and beyond," he said.
A joint Keurig/Green Mountain statement said Green Mountain and its business units support local and global communities by offsetting 100 percent of their greenhouse gas emissions, investing in sustainably grown coffee and allocating at least 5 percent of the corporation's pretax profits to social and environmental projects.
