GREENSBORO, N.C.—Kevin Castellani, president and group publisher, Progressive Business Media, will transition to executive director of new business strategy over the next several months and take on a new title of president-emeritus.
In his new role, Castellani will be responsible for advising the executive team on business development, handling international client opportunities and relationship management, and remaining active in other corporate initiatives for the company’s nine brands, including the launch of some planned new corporate initiatives.
Castellani has been with the company for 25 years. Prior to his role as president and group publisher, he served as publisher of Furniture|Today, the world’s leading furniture media brand, for 20 years. Previously, he was publisher of Home & Textiles Today and publisher of Home Fashion Magazine (formerly part of Home Furnishings News), which are all part of Progressive Business Media.
During Castellani’s two decades leading Furniture|Today, the brand expanded significantly and became the dominant source of business content to the home furnishings industry. From his vantage point at Furniture|Today, he has challenged many in the industry to go further, try harder, as well as inspired leaders to build their business through unique marketing campaigns and messaging. Castellani also has been extremely generous with his time and resources through his dedication to the Anti-Defamation League, Furniture Hall of Fame, City of Hope, and the International Alliance of Furnishings Publications.
“Although he has never taken credit for the vast majority of his work across the globe and inside the company, Kevin is recognized internationally as a champion of the furniture industry. His passion for the people and the betterment of the industry is extraordinary. He is a natural leader both internally and externally and has been an innovator in the media business for over three decades,” said Matthew Slaine, CEO, Progressive Business Media. “I am so grateful for Kevin’s leadership and excited that he will continue to work with our team to inspire us to be the best we can be for the industry. I am very proud to call Kevin both a colleague and a friend.”
“I feel incredibly fortunate to have worked in an industry and at a company that has allowed me to grow personally and professionally for so many years,” said Castellani. “This is the right time for me to take this step, and I am confident in the direction of Progressive Business Media and its executive team. I am looking forward to this new role where I will spend more time working on business strategy with PBM’s clients around the world. I am also excited for the opportunity to spend more time with my family and pursue some personal interests,” said Castellani.
Castellani’s transition into his new role will take place over the next few months.
