CHICAGO-Generation Brands division Tech Lighting has hired 13-year lighting industry veteran Kim Kil as Midwest region sales manager. The previous manager was promoted to a director's job and moved to another department, the company said.

Kil's territory covers Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Wyoming and Ontario, Canada.

Before joining Tech Lighting, Kil was a sales support manager--then promoted to a region sales manager--for Philips Alkco, a lighting OEM for healthcare environments. There, she was responsible for managing a 25-agency territory in the U.S. and Canada.

According to Tech Lighting and LBL Lighting Vice President of Sales Steve Hurley, "Kim's experience in working with showroom managers, architects, engineers, lighting designers and distributors gives her a unique view of the market landscape and makes her a valuable addition to our team."
