Whirlpool to Expand KitchenAid Plant
March 19, 2014,
BENTON HARBOR, Mich.-Whirlpool will invest $40 million to nearly double the size of its manufacturing operation in Greenville, Ohio, where KitchenAid appliances are made.
The expansion is expected to generate about 400 new jobs at the plant by 2018, according to a Whirlpool statement. The company said strong demand for KitchenAid small appliances has driven the need to boost the production capacity. Overall, small-appliance production at the Greenville location has doubled over the past five years.
