Louis Hornick to Open Manufacturing Facility in South Carolina

COLUMBIA, S.C.-Louis Hornick and Co. will establish its new factory in Allendale County, South Carolina, with operations scheduled to begin in November.

The existing building, measuring 103,000 square feet, the $2.5 million facility will produce Hornick's line of curtains and draperies, including its Firefend brand of flame-retardant window treatments. These will be supplied to all of its customer markets including online, institutional, hospitality and commercial. According to a statement on the facility from the South Carolina Department of Commerce, this new plant will supply products to Walmart stores as well.

The facility represents more than just manufacturing for Hornick. "We aren't just building a facility. We are moving to South Carolina," said Louis Hornick III, the company's chief operating officer. The statement added that the new plant will create 125 jobs over the next three years.

"Every aspect of this venture is geared toward offering the most options to our retail partners and manufacturing the highest quality products the American consumer demands and deserves," Hornick said.
