CALHOUN, Ga.-Surya has appointed Lynne Meredith vice president of product development, where she will manage design and product development for Surya's rug line, as well as the company's growing home accessories offerings, including pillows, poufs, throws, art and accent furniture. She reports to Satya Tiwari, president.

With a lifelong passion for textiles, Meredith has spent 25 years designing and overseeing global sourcing and overseas manufacturing processes within the fashion and home textiles markets. Prior to joining Surya, she served in leadership roles within design and development for global companies such as Trade AM International and Kingfisher Group.

"Lynne brings a wealth of knowledge and industry expertise to our company," said Tiwari. "Her in-depth understanding of textile and rug construction, along with a highly refined sense of color, texture and pattern and ability to anticipate design trends, will enable us to offer even more innovative and fashion-forward products to meet the needs of our customers."

Surya has been increasing significantly its investment in product development. In the past year alone, the company doubled its rug designs from 2,000 to 4,000 while also launching a new accent furniture collection.

"We are committed to building a comprehensive product range within the home accents category that is coordinated and easy for the customer to shop," said Meredith. "To support this effort, we have assembled a robust design team that is working directly with our customers to anticipate trend and color forecasts and to introduce consistently fresh and highly livable designs that work seamlessly with today's diverse lifestyles."
