Changes at Macy’s for Gennette, Baxter, Sachse and Kantor; Greiner to Retire

The move is just one of a series of changes for other Macy’s execs. Timothy Baxter, previously Macy’s executive vice president and general merchandise manager for ready-to-wear, has been promoted to succeed Gennette as Macy’s chief merchandising officer. He will report to Gennette.
Peter Sachse, Macy’s chief stores officer, has been named chief for innovation and business development, continuing to report to CEO Terry Lundgren. Jeff Kantor, previously chairman of macys.com, has succeeded Sachse as chief stores officer, and reports to Lundgren.
Going forward, Gennette will also oversee Macy’s merchandise planning, maintain oversight for merchandising and marketing of Macy’s stores and digital business, and private-brand product development. He will continue to report to Lundgren.
