WayfairLogoBOSTON-Wayfair is expanding operations into Maine with the opening of customer service and sales offices in the communities of Bangor and Brunswick.

The Bangor office is located in a building also occupied by L.L. Bean and has opened with the cooperation of both the catalog retailer and Maine & Co., a provider of business expansion and relocation services. It will perform customer service operations and will bring 450 jobs to that area.

The office in Brunswick will fulfill inside sales and service functions, and will bring more than 500 jobs to that community. Wayfair has worked closely with Maine & Co. and the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority to finalize plans for this office expansion.

“As one of the world’s largest e-commerce retailers of home furnishings and décor, Wayfair’s business is founded on an exceptional shopping experience for the home,” said Jane Carpenter, the online retailer’s head of public relations. “Our new Bangor and Brunswick locations will enable us to scale customer service and sales operations to keep pace with our rapidly growing customer base.”
