O2Cool Acquires Better Things

O2Cool_logoWEBCHICAGO-O2Cool, manufacturer of battery-operated fans, misting fans and misting drinking bottles, recently acquired the assets of Florida-based Better Things, maker of consumer products for use around the home, patio, pool and beach. Terms were not disclosed.

In a statement, O2Cool said the acquisition diversifies and expands its product offerings, strengthens its retail relationships and enhances its portfolio of summer-season items. Better Things' products will be marketed under the O2Cool brand.

"I believe that product is critical, and I know that O2Cool will continue to execute on this vision," said Harvey Katz, the founder and owner of Better Things, which is perhaps is best known for its Boca Clips, a popular line of beach towel clips. Katz will join O2Cool's team, acting as a product consultant. "I plan to use my marketing and design skills to continue to do what I do best: create better things; innovative, useful and functional products with great design and excellent quality that offer high value to the consumer. Selling the company to O2Cool will allow me to focus on new products to continue the growth of better things."

"By leveraging O2Cool's relationships, we will be able to bring Better Things' products to more major retailers throughout the country."
