NEW YORK–Penny Sikalis, a long-time executive in the textiles business with extensive sales and marketing experience, has joined Home & Textiles Today as sales manager.

In her new position she will help lead the sales effort for H&TT, taking on responsibility for advertising sales as well as new business initiatives, working with Mary McLoughlin, sales manager.

Sikalis was most recently vice president for the Surtex show and for Business Development at George Little Management, which was acquired by Emerald Expositions in 2014 and now operates under that name. In that role she repositioned Surtex into the premier international art licensing and surface design event and also was involved in the acquisition and integration of several shows and exhibitions into the GLM organization. Previously she had run the New York Home Textiles Show, among other events, for the show organizer.

She joined GLM in 1994 after marketing and communications management roles at Springs Industries and Dawson Home Fashions.

“Penny is an amazing addition to the H&TT staff,” said Warren Shoulberg, publisher, in making the announcement. “She brings an incredibly high level of sales, strategic planning and business development skills to us and we know she will help take H&TT into new areas while building on the existing successes of the business.”

Sikalis will report to Shoulberg and be based at the New York offices of the publication, which is part of Progressive Business Media.
