41 MadisonNEW YORK-The New York Spring Tabletop Show begins here today. Buyers from across the country and from diverse channels of distribution are in the city to view introductions in dinnerware, glassware and flatware.

Two big designer names are being added to the tabletop fold this spring: Elie Tahari for Lifetime Brands and Ted Baker for Portmeirion. The two designers present two distinct points of view, with collections that closely adhere to their individual fashion sensibilities. Excitement has been growing in other showrooms, for Waterford’s Rebel collection, which the company says sets the crystal maker on a new course; for the brand-new, full-floor Godinger Group showroom at Forty One Madison; and for industry newcomers, such as new Michael Aram CEO Terri Eagle.

Be sure to pick up a copy of the HFN Tabletop Daily at Forty One Madison on Wednesday for the latest news and pictures from market.
