Vagabond HouseSIERRA MADRE, Calif.-Vagabond House has acquired alternative metal producer Arthur Court Designs. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Arthur Court will relocate from San Francisco to the Los Angeles area to be managed and run by Vagabond Group, and it will have a separate and dedicated sales staff, rep group and operational management team to grow and expand the brand, the company said. The design team, as well as current sales management, will remain the same and Arthur Court will maintain its existing showrooms and show schedule.

The two companies had been in negotiations for awhile and had come to an agreement prior to the death of company founder Arthur Court in July. Court sought out Vagabond House, which makes pewter and pewter-accented tabletop across several categories, to take over his legacy, Arthur Court Designs said. Elena Court, Arthur’s widow and a principal of the company, “is very happy to have Vagabond Group keep the brand going and moving forward,” according to Brad Senesac, Vagabond’s marketing director.

The acquisition enables Arthur Court to expand its brand, its retail base and its customer service, according to Matt Hullfish, national sales manager for Arthur Court. And it enables the combined company to offer consumers more product options, said Scott Haas, Vagabond’s managing director. “We look forward to the continuing success both companies have had and raising the bar in the industry,” he said.
