SPOKANE, Wash.—Zak Designs has made Inc. magazine’s list of the 5,000 fastest-growing companies in America for the second time in Zak’s history.

Zak experienced 92 percent growth over the three-year span that Inc. uses as a determination for its Top 5000 ranking, according to Zak spokesman Chris Cogley. In the last three years, Zak also added 52 new positions and recently completed a expansion that added an additional 48,000-square-foot warehouse space to its facility in Washington.

Zak, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, was first honored by Inc. in 1995.

“The Zak Designs family is made up of some of the most talented and hard-working people on the planet, and this honor is a result of their amazing efforts,” said founder and CEO Irv Zakheim. “I’m incredibly proud of this achievement, and I’m extremely grateful to all our employees and customers who made it possible.”

“The Inc. 5000 list stands out where it really counts,” said Inc. President and Editor-In-Chief Eric Schurenberg in a statement issued by Zak. “It honors real achievement by a founder or a team of them. No one makes the Inc. 5000 without building something great – usually from scratch. That’s one of the hardest things to do in business, as every company founder knows. But without it, free enterprise fails.”

Many expected 2016 would be a banner year, but the political and economic climate softened consumer confidence. It was also a year consumers spent more lavishly on home remodeling rather than decorating.
