Alya Collection Cited as Textiles "Best of Market" in Market Week Awards

NY NowNEW YORK-The Alya Collection by Antiochia USA was named "Best of Market" in the Home Textiles Best New Products Awards, part of the upcoming Home Textiles Market Week.

This collection and four individual category award winners in the awards competition are now eligible for NY Now's "Best of Home" Award, which will be determined by online balloting at, during next week's edition of NY Now. The trade show is part of Home Textiles Market Week along with the showrooms at 230 Fifth Ave. here.

The Alya Collection consists of a double-side Turkish towel made of traditional hand looms in 100 percent cotton. In the bed category, the winner was Lazybones for its "thrift" kantha quilt, which features vintage prints handprinted onto cotton and handstitched into a patchwork-style kantha quilt. In bath, Home and Loft won for its Adult Robes, which are made of a Turkish Pestemal/Fouta Towel and hooded with tassels.

In the dining category, Walter G was cited for its Nila Napkin Set, which is designed with mixed patterns in blue and white inspired by traditional Indian motifs. Doggiedasherie's George, an end table with a pet bed, won in the home accessories category.

Danielle Giacoponello, NY Now Home Furnishings + Textiles sales manager, said, "The Best New Product Awards recognize excellence in design, as well as functionality and salability. This year's slate of winners and finalists, which spans five continents, excelled at blending these elements."
