American Textile to Celebrate 85th Anniversary

PITTSBURGH-American Textile Co. will hold an 85th anniversary party for the company at its headquarters near here, in Duquesne, Pa., on Oct. 2.

The event will be a 1920s-themed celebration in recognition of the company's founding in 1925. In a statement announcing the event, Reid Ruttenberg, American Textile's chairman, said the company is "focused on aggressive growth for 2011." Among the company's brands of mattress and pillow protectors, bed pillows and mattress pads are Aller-Ease, Rest Right, DermaTherapy and Cool Sensations.

Earlier this month, American Textile announced the opening of a new office in Davidson, N.C., which will serve as a location for its marketing and product-development operations. In addition, the company hired industry veterans Jane Fischer, Noreen O'Reilly, Shannon Hughes, Mette Odom and Monica Bush to executive posts in marketing and product development.
