Artisan Resource Debuts with a Splash at Gift Fair

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.-Exhibitors at Artisan Resource, the section of the New York International Gift Fair which debuted last month, said they were "pleased with the inaugural event and eager to return to future editions," according to a statement from GLM, NYIGF's owner and manager.

The new section spotlighted artisanal craft producers from 17 countries throughout the world. Attendees included volume importers, direct-import retailers and wholesalers. Exhibitors cited success at meeting new contacts, creating new partnerships and resulting in new orders, according to the GLM statement.

"We wrote a lot of custom work," said Renee Ryan of Haiti Projects. "It's a great networking show and it was very successful for us."

Christian Falkenberg, GLM vice president and NYIGF director, said, "Artisan Resource gave these artisan enterprises exposure to both a quantity and quality of new buyers in the U.S. What's more, it provided volume import buyers access to a world of new artisanal products and production resources, right here in New York City."

The next edition of Artisan Resource is scheduled for Jan. 27-29 at the winter edition of the Gift Fair, located at Pier 92 of New York City's Passenger Ship Terminal. GLM said about 100 companies from 20 countries are expected to exhibit.
