Bob Hamilton Passes Away

CORNELIUS, N.C.-Bob Hamilton, the long-time textiles executive who was a mainstay at Fieldcrest Cannon, has died after a battle with cancer. He was 67.

Hamilton was director of marketing with Welspun at the time of his death. At Fieldcrest, where he served as vice president of marketing, he was most closely associated with the Royal Velvet brand. A spokeswoman with Welspun described Hamilton as "a huge influence on the industry for many years, and was also a wealth of knowledge. Bob's eloquence and charm always left a lasting impression with all who met him."

Hamilton is survived by his wife, Diane; his children, Tyler and Bryce; and three grandchildren. Funeral plans have not yet been announced.
