RICHMOND, Va.-Carpenter Co. has introduced a new chemistry called IsoFresh, which neutralizes the smell of new foam bedding products.

The new technology was developed in the company's Reinhart Technical Center, its laboratory for comfort cushioning products. It changes foam at the molecular level so that its entire structure works to neutralize odors at their source, according to a Carpenter statement. Dan Schecter, senior vice president of consumer products, said IsoFresh is being used in the manufacture of Carpenter's bed pillows, mattress pads and mattress toppers.

IsoFresh products will begin shipping to retailers this month, the company said.
